The Village of Bradner is seeking applications for a qualified full-time electrical line utility worker; responsible for operation and routine maintenance of the village electrical distribution system.
Must possess a high school diploma or GED and a valid class B, CDL license with air brake or obtain six months after hire date. Knowledge of overhead distribution lines and underground primary distribution lines required. Water and waste water experience helpful. May require pole climbing and operation and use of bucket truck.
Position requires response within 30-minute time period to call-out emergencies, and 24/7 carry of village-issued cell phone for troubleshooting and emergencies, including holidays and weekends.
Position requires various duties to include but not limited to: water distribution repairs, assist in wastewater treatment plant, tree trimming power lines, road maintenance and snow removal, park and pool maintenance, lawn care and other general maintenance as required. Above duties will require working in all weather conditions. Twice monthly Board Meeting attendance is also required.

ZONING OFFICER (Part Time)

POSITION: Part time Zoning Officer
CLASSIFICATION: Part time, hourly, $12.00/hour + $.555/mile
WORK SCHEDULE: Hours vary, must report to Town Hall twice per week. 10 hours per week available during the winter months and 15 hours per week available during the summer months.
REPORTS TO: Chief of Police and Zoning Board
WORK LOCATION: Village of Bradner
QUALIFICATIONS: Must possess a valid Driver’s License, no criminal history; Any combination of education, training and work experience that indicates the skills, knowledge and abilities necessary to complete the duties listed on the job description. Good writing, organizational skills, and the ability to use a computer. Must have a positive attitude and the willingness to work with peers and the public. Must have the ability to communicate effectively with the public, Zoning Board, Chief of Police, and the village prosecutor when necessary.

Department: Zoning Department
Reports To: Chief of Police and Zoning Committee
Responsible for ensuring that new development and on-going land occupancy conforms to applicable village regulations regarding land use and zoning, ensures all properties are in compliance with zoning ordinances and nuisance abatement.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assists the Zoning Committee in reviewing residential Zoning Use Permit Applications for compliance to applicable village regulations.
Reviews and approves or disapproves all Zoning Use Permits and Special Use Permits.
Responsible for receiving and acting on zoning and nuisance complaints including any required investigations, a written notice and for maintaining a log with status of each complaint. Collecting evidence in a uniform manner for possible legal action.
Makes interpretations of ordinance provisions under the zoning manual.
Responsible for permit application intake procedures; supervises permit intake by the Village Clerks Office.
Performs field inspections for issuance of Compliance Certificates and as otherwise required.
Works with other governmental agencies to aid citizens in obtaining permit approvals from these agencies in conjunction with Zoning Committee and Zoning Department. (Examples: Wood County Auditor’s Office, Wood County Health Department, Ohio Environmental Protection Agency.)
Responsible for coordination of permitting and certain land use cases with the Zoning Committee.
Responds to citizen complaints and undertakes enforcement actions. Consults police chief or village attorney if necessary.
Responsible to provide assistance to village attorney in whatever was necessary to prosecute an enforcement action, including but not limited to field inspections, research, providing witness testimony in Village of Bradner court cases, and working with outside agencies to get dangerous or nuisance properties and buildings cleaned up.
Attend Village of Bradner Mayor’s Court or Bowling Green Municipal Court when open active court cases exist.
Supervise the design and maintenance of permit records and database, and other periodic reports and handouts.
Responsible for responding to zoning inquiries by phone and in writing.
Other related duties assigned.
